Halloween will be on the first night we are cruising out of Baltimore but was wondering will they have Halloween contest and dancing going on even though this is our first night and it may feel rushed? 2nd what is Halloween like on Carnival cruise lines? does everyone dress up- I dont want to be that person and only me full out in my halloween costume having fun but people looking at me like a nut job. Shel9365 Posted March 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2015 We will be sailing with you and our family is dressing up. This is our first Carnival cruise, and our first Halloween cruise. I have read that there will be a costume contest and trick or treating for the kids. I'm sure it will be fun! Only 239 days!! Lol
volfan22701 Posted March 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2015 we were on a cruise on the Valor a few years ago at Halloween, and it was a lot of fun. we dressed up a little but some went way out, and some went too far. there was a contest were they marched the dressed up ones across the stage and the crowd picked the winner. some of this may not have been good for children to see. go have fun and dress as much as you want. there will be plenty that do. otherwise just sit back and people watch. that will be entertaining also. doug
Heartlands1 Posted March 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2015 We sailed on the Liberty on Halloween a few years back. Being from the UK we didn't really know what to expect so we had semi-costume, me in orange and black with a witches hat and purse with a spider embroidered on it and black lace gloves, DH conceded to a black shirt and tie with pumpkins on. We thought there would be more dressing up as a few people had actually worn their costumes for boarding. The difference between UK and US was that in the UK we would only wear Halloween themed costumes e.g. ghosts, skeletons, Dracula and Frankenstein with the emphasis on short sexy outfits for those young enough! On the Liberty people were dressed in any sort of Fancy Dress. At dinner we had desserts with a Halloween theme and the entertainment that night included dancing to Michael Jackson's thriller, nothing over the top or embarrassing. The year before we'd cruised the first week of November and the ship was already decorated for Christmas. I thought this was too soon.

Ramrac Posted March 16, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Thanks for the responses. now can the costume get elaborate? I saw a review from this past Halloween and one person was dressed as Edward Scissorhands and pulled it off perfectly! So be elaborate!

kmkerr64 Posted August 5, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2015 I will be sailing on the Pride and arriving back in Baltimore on the 31st. Hoping to "rally the troops" so Carnival will have some type of celebration BEFORE Halloween. I will be sailing with my 12 daughter, 7 and 10 year old grandchildren. They are really disappointed they won't be getting to wear their costumes.

cantthinkofanythingfun Posted August 6, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 6, 2015 My experience on the Pride is that half the passengers dress like players on the Pittsburgh Steelers whether it's Halloween or not. It's very scary.

jcp21 Posted October 17, 2015 #23 Share Posted October 17, 2015 I found some Halloween static stickers that we got at the dollar stop. We will put them on the cabin door to help us find the room and to let anyone know to knock and get candy. I call it Room or Treat. Let me know if you all want to share room numbers and do a Trick or Treat for the kids.
