new-cruise-addict Posted March 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Has anyone had experience with the drink packages applying to those staying in a suite? For ex., will a charge apply to a drink ordered to be brought to our room? We have a SC level room and drink and dining package included.
triptolemus Posted March 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Drinks brought to your stateroom by butlers or regular room service staff are considered "room service" and are not included in the UBP. There have been a few reports now and then of butlers getting drinks in the room covered under the UBP, but this is not the norm and should not be expected. new-cruise-addict Posted March 7, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Perfect! Very helpful info. Also, we were given the UDP as well, should I assume that in suite dining is "room service" as well?
abbyar Posted March 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2015 I was coming to ask the same question about ubp as well. I do know dining in the suites is covered from specialty dining, so that should be covered under the udp.
GEORGET Posted March 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2015 IN feb on the Spirit Cagney,s was full so asked for the meal in our room. butler had to ask the manager and as we were there we had to Prepay with our cards. It seemed to confuse the issue. Still we got our meal but as usual only warm. told that all drinks from the fridge and room service drinks was not covered by the UBP. looks as though it .UDP, is confusing some staff. Will find out in April when we order again. These perks with a suite are great hope it helps j
rvsullivan Posted March 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2015 There is no confusion with the UDP and suites. UDP applies to in suite dining from the specialty restaurants. It actually helps NCL in that there are that many less wanting to dine in the restaurant. Our Butler had no problem getting our meals as requested and UDP took care of it. triptolemus Posted March 7, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Perfect! Very helpful info. Also, we were given the UDP as well, should I assume that in suite dining is "room service" as well? That's another matter. UDP covers specialty restaurant meals brought to your suite by the butler. Not a problem. A heads-up to the butler a few hours in advance is helpful so they can coordinate their effort and bring your meal as close to on-time as is possible. You see, typically, people eat about 3 meals a day. If people drank only 3 drinks per day, they would allow the butler to bring you UBP beverages. But we know people drink more than 3 per day! If they allowed room service UBP, the butlers and room service staff would quickly turn into a large roving crew of cocktail servers.
