Ex techie Posted March 14, 2015 #26 Share Posted March 14, 2015 They are not breaking any rules. 11s and 12s have an option of the Edge (where they must be able to roam freely around the ship) or the Lab (where they must sign in and be signed out by a parent or other registered' date=' responsible adult). The choice of where they wish to hang out is up to the parent and child to work out.[/quote'] Unfortunately it won't take that long before another "incident" happens with a 12 year old and lower age child. Such a dumb system to placate the few. ex techie

moki'smommy Posted March 14, 2015 #28 Share Posted March 14, 2015 "Incident"? Has something happened before? Sent from my EM63 using Forums mobile app Yes, several years ago DCL allowed an adult with special needs to participate in the teen programming. His behavior was inappropriate, both in and out of the programming area. As a result, the Disney lawyers got involved and we now have a system where minors in "secure" programming are never in contact with adults who are not DCL CMs. If you take your child into the kid areas during "open house" hours, you are responsible for their safety and their behavior. We have a strict cut off at age 18--previously 18 and in high school could participate in teen programming. now it's 18 and out. No, it was not as bad as where your imagination may be taking you, but it was inappropriate none the less. Previously we had a "college club." Now we have an 18-21 club, with most participants being at the younger end of the range. Frankly, the college kids don't want to hang with high school kids (maturity differences.....) Ex techie Posted March 15, 2015 #30 Share Posted March 15, 2015 Ok, thanks! Yeah, my mind went to the worst possible place. LOL! From what was reported online it was mostly stalking and inappropriate behavior towards a young lady. ex techie
