Mysticalmother Posted March 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Hi there - best way to do that would be to join the roll call for your cruise .......and if there isn't one, start one! Have a great cruise .

kruzseeka Posted March 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2015 We have booked this cruise, our second on P & O and are looking forward to this trip We have not yet made any port plans. Would be interested in advice from others. We did this cruise on Aurora - and it was fabulous. I would recommend doing the two 'big' trips from Reykjavik and Akureyri - they are usually called the Golden Circle and Jewels of the North or something similar covering the two big waterfalls Godafoss and Gullfos (? sp), the mud pools, geyser, lava field and National Park where the tectonics plates are moving apart. They are iconic geological features of Iceland and definitely worth doing. The coach trips are scenic too. Isafjodur we just had a leisurely day wandering around and visiting the church and museum. Not sure what your Norway ports are - but almost certainly Bergen where an independent approach is very doable. You can get the funicular to the top of Mt Floyen for fabulous views across the city. There is the UNESCO Bryggen on the waterfront which is worth exploring and the fish market on the Harbour is interesting too. I guess you will be going to either Flam or Gieranger possibly both in which case whatever you decide to do at the destinations the sail-in and sail-away from both are spectacular and like an excursion in their own right - not to be missed.
