Differences btwn D1 & D8 Balcony Anthem?

Recommended Posts

We're looking at booking Anthem and have found that it would cost us $1000 more for the category D1 over a D8.

Can someone tell us the differences between these two, and what determines a D8 vs. D7 or D6, etc?

It's all about where the Cabin is on the ship, the better spots with larger balconies are D1 and then get cheaper and less preferred cabins the lower the grade you go.

But here is a sneaky bit of advice for you. I have booked cabin 6260 for a D8 grade. This cabin on both sides of the ship and on all other decks is a D1 due to the size of the balcony (it is nearly a double size - have a look at deck plans).

I thought it would be an obstructed view cabin due to the life boats, but turns out the only thing in the view is nothing because it is over the outside dining area for Jamie's Italian restaurant.

So all the size and benefit of a D1 for the price of a D8.

As stated D1 have a bigger balcony but the other D category cabins on the hump sides are bigger as well. We were in 8650 on Quantum and we had a bigger balcony than the other D8's. Also some D categories hold more than 2 pax while the D8 only could accommodate 2.

A while back someone posted that they were in a cabin on deck 6 that was above Jamie's Italian restaurant and that it was very noisy. Some sort of machinery was making a racket most of the night.
