Viewing Bears in Kadiak

Hi - We will be on Holland America that stops in Kodiak in late June. My wife loves bears? We're only there from 7 am till 2. Any suggestions how as to tours?

Just an FYI-you won't see a KODIAK bear in KODIAK island during the summer on short bear viewing trips. You have to go someplace like Munsey's Bear Camp in KODIAK and spend 3-5 days to even get a chance.

 

95% of the pilots in Kodiak fly to the Katmai during the summer. The bears are thick and you should have a very good chance seeing coastal brown bears in the wild. A couple of pilots fly up the Alaska Peninsula.

 

So if all you want to see is brown bears, not specifically a KODIAK bear, take any one of the recommended tours. If you need a KODIAK bear sighting, either wait until fall or spend 3-5 days at Bear Camp. Whatever you do, enjoy!!!
