jersey city to manhattan-drive in & drop off?

We are staying in Jersey city pre cruise. My dh is driving us up and staying with us for pre cruise, but not going on the cruise with us. How bad would the traffic be on Sunday morning if he drove us into the city to drop us off at the pier? (Breakaway at Manhattan Cruise Terminal). We were thinking about the Path train, and then a taxi to the port, but I'm starting to wonder if that would be a real hassle, especially with luggage.

Sunday morning should be no problem at all. You go through the Holland Tunnel (excellent access from the Newport area of JC), then follow the signs to West street and go all the way uptown to the pier on the west side route on 12th Ave. After DH drops you off he can go through the Lincoln Tunnel back to NJ.
