Quantum Redeemed WOW on our 2nd voyage

Recommended Posts

Adding this to the CC RCCL postings pages -

Sail Date: March 2015 Destination: Eastern Caribbean Embarkation: Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Things are winding down as we sail towards Bayonne on beautifully (on continued) calm seas.

Fair to say, aside from still upset about not having life jackets in the cabin (decided to purchase our own at West Marine for 22.00 each) and continue to prefer classic dining to Dynamic Dining... this has been an absolutely delightful cruising experience aboard Quantum Of The Seas. Happy we decided to give Royal a second chance as Quantum has come a VERY long way since our previous report after sailing on it's November 2014 maiden transatlantic voyage from South Hampton to Bayonne.

The food and service in each of the dining venues has been positively exceptional ... far beyond the usual "wedding food" we typically expect on ships.

The memory of long lines on our November maiden voyage has faded - except for those we see now for "future bookings".

Mama Mia was spectacular, not to be missed.

Comments from many we met that much of the entertainment has been very good. We did not get to most shows due to conflicts with Dynamic Dining reservations. (another reason for classic dining)

Must hand it to Royal, they listened and acted promptly to make this WOW ship worthy of the nickname.

The weather, has cooperated for all but one very brief shower in Barbados.

Lunch with an officer was another nice touch (for those with 350 or more points) served in Coastal Kitchen.

MDW's progressive trivia team is in first place with one to go...although ONE bottle of champagne to be divided by 6 players is a far cry from previous progressive prizes! Come on Royal, that's going too far, such dedicated players deserve better gifts.

Elevators poorly sequenced, long waits for them, several fail to ring bell on deck when they arrive.

Wonderful that we were able to "break bread" with 8 of our cruise buddies yesterday in American Icon. The wait staff went above and beyond to make that happen and stayed late to see we were all satisfied with the lunch service and meal.

WiFI has worked well for us - love the new smart phone app - allows guests to see schedules, activities, their specific reservations and chat or speak to each other. Told that while in development it's free, but expect a fee in future. Wonderful for free, however, not something I would pay for.

Hoping that the disembarkation will go as smoothly as the embarkation - It DID!! less than 20 minutes, we were off and waiting for our car service!

We were home Friday afternoon by 11, best time ever!

Rumor has it that Royal is considering Concierge Lounge access to Pinnacle and Suite Guests only, with Diamond Plus and Diamond relegated to the Diamond lounge... We hope NOT.

Booked Anthem for next June.

Cabin 12316 convenient to the concierge lounge, quiet, just far from the main elevators.
