Sleep Inn - Dana , FL.

I turst you mean the one in Dania Beach... No, it's in a very isolated area. It would be fine if you have a car, but if not I would stay along SE 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale.

There's a Walgreens next to Sleep Inn and a Publix Grocery store across the street, but the only restaurants close are take away Chinese and pizza.

We stayed at this hotel last October and found it fine for one night. Usually by the time we fly down and get to the hotel it is getting late afternoon so we are not looking to really go any where.

There is a walgreens, a large grocery store with a good deli including hot foods. A couple of small resturants- we did not try either one. WE got our dinner from the store deli and it was very good. plus it was convient to purchase water and soda.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and everything was clean. Small pool our kids liked especially since they had it all to themselves!

Good breakfast also.

While we did not use the transportation to the port it looked well organised with a large bus and a trailer for the luggage.

We did use the hotels free transportation from the airport and it was prompt and the van was clean, the driver friendly.

The ocean is a 3 minute cab ride from the Sleep Inn. For $5 you can get dropped off at Hollywood Beach, walk the broadwalk, enjoy a sumptious lunch with the locals at Nick's and grab a cab back to your hotel. Bring your swim suit, the ocean is turqoise, clean and warm. ;)
