Glory and Scenic OV Review

Sorry there won't be any photos guys...I've got so much to do! But I did want to do a short review of our experiences..these are my experiences and opinions..just keep that in mind! :D There were four of us in our cabin!

Scenic OV Cabin on Lido Deck:

First let me start by saying the view was gorgeous! This cabin cost us about 200$ more and the view alone was worth it. But I do want to let you know the downsides we experienced. The window had sprinklers attached above it on the outside for cleaning purposes. That's great we know the salt builds up on them but these windows require a person with a squeegee...at least every other day. You could not take decent photos out this window...and with the sofa bed deployed you could not walk from the other bed to the restroom..not even 2 inches of space! You had to crawl across the sofa bed. Not cool. A definite design flaw. I could stay in bed forever if I just had the Carnival comfy comforter..ahhh bliss.

FTTF: I'm so PRO FTTF I don't know if I could cruise without it. I love by passing lines at guest services, getting priority tenders ( used that in Grand Caymen) we were told to come to guest services and were escorted immediately off. Very VERY fast! Luggage delivery was so fast it wasn't funny.

Food: The buffet was average. Usually hit that for 2 boiled eggs and some grilled tomatoes each morning. The MDR we only hit once because they had FRIED OYSTERS with chipotle lime sauce! FABULOUS! LOVED IT! Let me also say that I've said many times on these boards that Guys burgers were just meh...obviously they were not done right when I had them because this time on the Glory I think we as well as the kids ate our weight in them, they were melt in your mouth delicious! Also the chicken tacos at the Blue Iguana were the bomb! On the Liberty last year I didn't care for them to much of some type of spice but this time they were AWESOME! Fish tacos as well!

Spring Breakers: The kids on this cruise seemed to be for the most part pretty tame...lots of young ones said excuse me,etc...and I had conversations with a young man from Minnesota who was a credit to college kids everywhere! His mom and dad would be proud at how he and his fraternity conducted themselves! Sure they drank but they had fun and didn't get stupid. We did see one young girl around 19 or 20 who streaked down the hallway...thank goodness no kiddies were around!

Excursions:

Loved the Rose Hall Great House tour in Jamaica! Excellent! Sandria and James from Juta Tours ( booked through Carnival) were fun. It was a beautiful ride through around the scenic area to get there! Highly recommend this one! My kids loved it. Outside the great house one gent was selling Mahogany wood items at a far less price than in port or the Rose Hall Shoppes ..his were unique as well! Gorgeous!

On Grand Cayman we did the Deluxe Stingray Sandbar excursion. Ran by Marine Land Tours and a Captain named Bert...it was fun and informative..this is the second time we've been to Stingray City...you should do it! It's awesome!

Embark: POM has a mixed up jumbled mess. The FTTF folks were told to one thing by one employee and told no by another. We finally got on but Orlando wins hands down ..FTTF holding areas along with Plats/diamonds are clearly defined.

Debark: Smooth as silk...went to Golden Dining Room as instructed...FTTF comes in so handy here..first ones off the ship! In our car to drive home by 8:10 a.m.

Customer Service:

Pretty great! I had an issue with my Cruise Cash ( BRING YOUR RECEIPTS) this is the only thing that saved me was having my proof! Got it fixed quick. Some kids in the cabin beside ours kept throwing something at the wall REPEATEDLY:rolleyes: so we called guest services and security fixed that in a SECOND! And they followed up the next day by phone and letter in our cabin asking if this was resolved or if their behavior was continued...very well handled.

The only downside was our room steward who didn't interact, barely acknowledged us and when I requested ice he said for me to call room service...not cool..could've been better in this area!

As a family we had an absolute blast! The casino was nice to us..no we didn't win big but we left with half our money! For us that's great! :D We were blessed with excellent weather! Gorgeous!

If you have questions ask away!

LOL I was in 9199. I believe the room is the same size as regular OV just laid out differently. The VIEW is gorgeous but if you have more than 2 in there just beware this is an issue...no matter how thin you are you are not navigating that little 1-2 inch space at the bottom of the sofa bed- there were no roll away beds but we did manage to use the tables and chair with a fluffy comforter and fix up a makeshift bed for DS..he's pretty thin. I'd book this again for the view but I'm telling you if you have kids in the cabin put one on the sofa without the bed deployed and one on a twin sized air mattress (bring it with you).

Have a great time!
