jennifer1t Posted April 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2015 We got a $400 on board credit put on our sale and sign account- can we use it to purchase shore excursions?
forwardcabin Posted April 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) You can use it for anything you charge to your S&S card while onboard--including shore excursions purchased at the excursions desk. jennifer1t Posted April 2, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Would you happen to know if shore excursions are more expensive when you get on the boat rather than buying online in advance?
forwardcabin Posted April 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2015 They are the same price purchased ahead of your cruise or onboard. Carnival's are more expensive than purchasing third party or on your own directly thru the excursion, but if you purchase thru Carnival and for some reason your excursion is late getting back to the ship, the ship will wait for you. If you purchase on your own, then you must make sure you get back before the ship leaves.

ATLCruiseJunkie Posted April 2, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Waiting until you get on the ship to book your shore excursions (if you choose to stick with ship excursions) isn't more expensive on the ship, but there may be some sold out already. As long as you aren't set on doing one particular thing, you'll be fine.
Native Floridian 26 Posted April 2, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2015 You can also use the OBC for tips, which is what we usually do since we don't spend much on extras while on the cruise.
JMHAM1 Posted April 2, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2015 If you don't mind my asking....how did you get the sweet OBC's? It seems that Carnival is a bit stingy when it comes to OBC's. I can't seem to find deals where you get a lot like you do on other lines.
Native Floridian 26 Posted April 2, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Some people get them from Early Saver price reductions after final payment. We also get them from being a Carnival Stockholder. Those are a couple of examples.
