Why pay day pass price for public beach?

I know I must be missing something. Why would I pay a resort a $50-150 day pass when every beach in Antigua is public? If I don't want to eat or drink there, can't I just walk onto the beach at the resort and sit in a lounger? What am I missing?

Beaches are free....loungers not if they even rent or are for guests exclusively..these passes usually include alcohol, food and use of pools, rest rooms and outdoor shower....you may be able to buy drinks or lunch but your lounging will be on your ship towel in the sand....to each his own...i'm usually in the water so long it's time to leave!
