Well I am back home now so pics will follow either later tonight or tomorrow once I suss out how to do now I have a little bit of time.

Anyway here is some more.

Well its Tuesday so it must be Belize. We park the boat around 5 miles off shore so as to protect a barrier reef. Nonsense!! I reckon its just too dodgy to take the boat into Belize City Some one will steal it!!

After another dodgy room service brekkie we take a 20 min tender into the port and we are doing the City and Altun Ha ruins tour. The city has areas where there are real shanty type house and then sitting there beside them are these $1m homes which look right out of place. Now back in Greenock we have some dodgy areas but you would never build 1 new big massive house slap bang in the middle of a slum. Thats whats happened here. Very strange! And speed bumps, What the F!! The roads are horrendous. Seriously bad and they have millions of speed bumps. They road is 2/3 cars wide. But there is a single lane of tarmac in the centre of the road. So if you come face to face with another car you both have to move to the right to pass each other and in the middle of this single lane there are speed bumps. Mental!! Anyway it was interesting to see it and to say I was there. Belize, Ive been there. Belize City, No thanks but the Mayan Ruins of Altun Ha were spectacular. Stuart and I climbed to the top of all 3 of the taller ones. The views from the top were cracking. Looking right over the Belizean jungle and all the while there were vultures flying overhead just waiting on someone keeling over. They really are graceful birds when they are flying. I always think of the old Disney film. Bedknobs and Broomsticks when I see them.

Around 90 mins at the ruins and we are back on bus for the journey back to Belize City. It was a really good tour and amazing to see. Glad I went to the Ruins.

Back on board and head to Guy’s Burger bar. Pure quality byraway!!

So eating a Guys burger so late on in day screwed me up for my evening meal but a solution was found. Soup and a puddin!! Minestrone soup (2 bowls) and some Hot Chocolate Melting cake. Hell yeah!!

Later on that night was another quiet night. Casino for an hour or so and do the 80s music quiz and as usual my wee Hobbit came up trumps and we won the quiz with 47 out of 48. Only one we didn't get was a Fleetwood mac song. Still don't know the title of it. OK we cheated a little. We swopped an answer with a couple next to us. We could not remember Kenny Loggins and they did not know The Knack.

So that was us with our 24 carat plastic piece of ship on a stick!! Thats what you go on Carnival for!!

Bedtime a happy couple. Nite nite.

So its Wednesday and that must mean its Honduras. Hot-duras more like. Bloody roasty toasty for sure. Swam in the Caribbean sea and got some sun about us and thats when the bites started. Kay has tons. Her head, neck, arms and legs have lots of wee bites which have tightened up and are very itchy. I have one on my neck right where I shave. I have 1 and its doing ma box in scratchy. Kay’s must be murder.

Anyway Have you ever drank an ice cold Pina Colada from a fresh coconut. Lovely stuff. Pity it was only a young coconut and the inside had not fully formed so we never got to eat the actual coconut itself.

Roatan is beautiful. A stunning setting and a fantastic beach. Scorchio!!!

Anyway that nugget son of mine after being told to keep covered up and blasted with sun cream comeback on ship and promptly heads up to the pool and takes the shirt off. Que sunburn and blisters on the back of his lugs!! (ears) Eejit!

He actually looked ill and his face looked quite swollen. Anyway he kept a low profile tonight and stayed in Camp Carnival all night. Until I went and collected him at 10 then back to the Karaoke with a difference. A live band supported the singers. Laugh a minute. The 1st time I have ever heard a song called Red Solo Cup. Brilliant. The guy was blitzed when singing it and it was fantastic entertainment. Well done to all the singers. That took us up to back of 11. Nite nite.

So thats us up to Thursday and a day at Grand Cayman. What a cracking wee island. But bejesus its bloody warm. And its also my wife’s birthday. So as I make her life Hell. Today for her birthday I am taking her to Hell. There is a wee place in Grand Cayman called Hell. Let me tell you Hell itself cannot be much hotter this this place. Was roasting hot. It was brick wall, a wooden shack and a post office. Everything you need in hell. Took some foties and back to the bus, Anyway we stopped in at a great viewing spot for the town of Georgetown harbour then to a turtle farm where stuart held a turtle that will some day grow up and be slapped down on a plate for someone to eat. They breed them to eat them. So much for saving the planet and rescuing them. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

Anyway from the turtle restaurant of the future to Hell. 15 mins we had in Hell. to be honest I could have done with a another 10 or so to send a postcard or 2. Anyway back to tour and Tortuga Rum factory for a few samples. Very nice but all very sweet and sickly. The rum cake was nice but Pineapple and Melon flavoured rum was too sweet. Back to bus and into town to finish tour. Was seriously nippy hot so a quick wander to try to get something nice for heidthebaw back home but was too warm to carry on. Back to pier, tender and room to crash out. Was Elegant night, the Latin stageshow from the cast and then another mental quiz. This one was Rock music. We done ok. Not enough to win but to be interested. Anyway the last song was Bohemian Rhapsody. Now me and this other daftie who I had never met before were heidbanging to the Wayne’s World car scene bit of the song. Its on video somewhere. I have since seen it and its mental. I hope whoever has it does not put it on Youtube or Facebook. I will never Iive it down. Its all a good laugh anyway. And as a Queen fan. The musicians not the old yin. I have heidbanged to many Queen tracks over the years. RIP Freddie. The greatest showman of them all.

Oh Stuart was at Camp Carnival and we sat with some friends for a few hours after and enjoyed company and time together. Was nice before I had to go get Stuart.

Almost 1 am. Nite nite

The final part.

Right here we are on the day before we set off home. The last sea day. As previously stated

I enjoy sea days. Chillin, sunbathin, doing daft quizzes etc. But today was not a great day.

It was scorchio scorchio. Too hot to sit and chill and the quizzes were rotten. Harry Potter,

Star Wars and Game of Thrones quizzes. I mean Cometefk!!!!! Also we played the super trivia

and lost because of a stupid rule where a team could answer a question and steal your points.

That was just not fair. In fact as we Scots would say Lotta****e!!!! Bad mood time.

Anyway chilled indoors. Bought some Grey Goose to take back home. 4 litres for $99. Bargain!

Casino time as well. Overall we were around $80 down in the Casino.

Last evening meal in the MDR and then the final show.

Some time spent with new found friends and its now time to say tata!!

A quiet and disappointing day to be honest.

Now its Saturday and the start of a long journey home which to be honest was a nightmare.

It started with a long wait to get off the ship then a longer wait at US Customs as

someone in the queue to get into the US was detained meaning our queue was the slowest.

Typical of our luck and a sign of things to come. It was now 12.30 and we shared a taxi

to the airport. We arrived around 12-50 and our flight was scheduled for 16-35.

Remember that time 16-35. Will lets start off with a 30 min delay. No worries. Our

connecting flight was at 21-10. Then the bombshell. Flight was delayed till 18-30

Now that set the alarm bells ringing. It was an approx 2hrs and 40 min flight.

That would mean no chance of getting the connecting flight. But after speaking to US

Airlines and it looked like we were in for a night at their expense in a Philadelphia

Hotel, our flight left around 18-25 and we landed in PHL at 20-50. We had 20 mins to

get to the other plane. Fortunately it was only a few gates away meaning a walk of

approx 150 yards. We made it by the jawbones of our back side. As we boarded the plane

the stewardess shut the door at our back. Get to our seat and phew!!!!!!!!!!

This seems to be common occurance with us. Always last on the plane.

Or 'at the coo's tail' to use an old Scottish saying.

Anyway flight to Dublin was ok and we had a wee 8 hour wait before we got the flight home.

After a lovely full Irish Breakfast of Sausages, Black Pudding, Hash Browns, Toast and beans

It was time to watch the football on the TV. I wish I hadnt as my team Celtic got beat in

a cup semi final meaning our chance of 'the treble' had gone.

A sad end to a cracking holiday.

The oldest boy picked us up from Glasgow airport around 6pm nd we were home by half past.

He had been out on the razzle on the saturday and was seriously hungover. So hungover

I had to drive into town to our fav chinese for a well earned chinese meal.

By 8pm I was asleep in my chair, by 10-30 I was in my bed and by 12 noon the

following day (Monday) I was ready to get up.

Hope you enjoyed my rants and raves and daft descriptions in a somewhat unusual style of blogging.

I enjoy doing it.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the laughs!

Can you give more information about the ruins tour in Belize? Was it booked through Carnival or a 3rd party? How long was the ride (and was it comfortable)?

Thinking about doing this when on Glory in August, but not sure if I want to be stuck on a hot bus all day

Happy Chappy thanks so for finishing it up...so glad you had a great holiday and we really really appreciate you and your fine family and "inimitable" style....you have me wanting to go to Glasgow with dad who now at almost 81 is pulling a double axle U-haul alone (would not allow flight from me and company) from closing up the retirement manufactured home where my folks were the kids of it until the olders of it for 20 years escaping winters here in in Montana to Tuscon, AZ...

So MAYBE..besides being a cowboy and pulling his horse and camper in the front thing there will be ability to take a trip or two with moi..we will see....the guy is in better shape than moi and it must be his heritage... there... where his folks found the grave stone....much love..welcome home...Auntie Sarah

LOL on the 20 year old...we had some family with a bigger spread..sis 2 and youngest graduating high school now...Oldest bro is 30...or 29..not sure at moment,,,,

I told them in their day of the changing legal age here in Montana when I was younger (18) versus Oregon (21)...where I was when turning 18...ah well...this one now needs to say away..number 29..God bless him, this may be the Scot in me..I am horrible chatty and glad not alone...Sarah

The ruins were really good I thought. I am a great believer that some places have an aura that you can sense or feel. Obviously you cannot see it but you sense it as soon as you get there. Like stadiums and theatres. Well this had an aura too.

Some folk can sense it, some cannot. I can. Places of history, triumph and tragedy usually have one. Celtic park has one, the Citizens theatre in Glasgow, Edinburgh Castle etc etc. Well Altun Ha has one.

It was an approx 45 min journey in an air conditioned coach. The bus itself was old but the air on worked fine and it was comfortable. You had approx 90 mins at the site which is plenty time to wander around and climb the ruins and take foties.

It's can be frustrating getting a good pic because of the other inconsiderate cruisers who also want to get foties.

We booked it thro carnival.

There were folk waiting for you as soon as you got off the tender (or the getaway ship) who directed you throw the duty free area to where the coach was parked. It was well organised. I reckon we had 30 odds in a 40 seater coach.

Personally I would recommend the tour.
