Calls to Cozumel?

OK, I know it is vacation but...

 

My DH and I will be on our first trip of more than 2 days without our DD who is 2 1/2. We want to touch base with her and/or the grandparents at least once while on our cruise at the end of October.

 

We can call Cozumel for $0.07 a minute from home, so does anyone know some place in Cozumel that would let you receive a phone call?

You can call Cozumel for 7 cents a minute? What plan do you have? I have a $25 a month Cozumel plan through Qwest that covers the first 60 minutes. After that, I'm at either 10 cents or 25 cents a minute.

 

Okay, to answer your question, I'm not sure if any of the calling centers would allow you to receive a phone call. Maybe one of the locals could answer that. My only other recommendation would be to get a Telmex calling card and use a Telmex phone and call home from Cozumel.

We have Vonage, a VOIP provider, we love it! So you can see it would be much cheaper to have the g'parents call us...if we can just find somewhere for them to call =)

Yes, go see Tony Rome at the Embassy Restaurant. He will be happy to allow you to make or receive a phone call while you visit the island. His place is on 5 AVENUE between Calle 2 & 4. They call him ¨The Ambassador¨ for a reason.
