HHW Posted September 23, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2005 here is what we did with our 22mo old... Belize: We had planned on going to the zoo, but got the run-around from security and tour operators when we asked for a taxi driver....so didn't go. Definately plan anexcursion through the ship, and you won't get hassled. Costa Maya: LOVED IT! We booked a tour with Ivan and David. Loved the town, and had Don Pedro as our tour guide. Four people in the tour, can't beat that! Also ate at the Cat's Meow, where the tour meets. Great salsa, guac., fajitas and daquaris. Cozumel: VERY disappointed in RCC...after much planning and discussions with the RCC 1-800 C/A personnel, we booked the dolphin encounter upon recommendation of the RCC staff- on the premise we could take our 22mo old. Based our whole trip on it, too. Got off to do the excursion, and the new company (not at the Chakanaab park) said they don't allow kids under 4. I really nearly cried right there in front of about 50 people! So, after all that, we decided to rent a car. We used Avis-- they even provided us with a convertible car seat!!-- we ended up having the best day ever! We drove around the island and saw things we wouldn't have otherwise. We ended up going to Play Mia- great place for kids, with a mini zoo, paddle boats, kayaks, etc. Food OK. Grand Cayman: Our stingray tour with Capt. Bryan's left us, we got there 10 min before they were to leave, very disappointed, but decided to take another tour co. anyway. We booked with a smaller company...best decision ever. We had only about 11 people with us, and our DD loved it! Any other questions, let me know! H
