I thought I’d post a few pics (in no particular order) from our cruise on the Dawn out of New Orleans in February '15.

 

My wife and I aren’t much on gambling but we do visit the casino every so often. We’re not big spenders so if we lose $50 between us we’re done with the casino. The casino did have a virtual blackjack machine and I have to say, if the blackjack dealers looked and dressed like the lady on the screen I’d probably spend more time gambling. :D

 

 

 

The buffet food was always quite good and I love the food grilled outdoors especially during the sail away party.

 

 

 

 

 

I really enjoy the music and dancing at the sail away party.

Our cabin was a hull balcony on deck 8. The room itself was clean and the bed was very comfortable for us.

 

 

 

The bathroom was the same as what we had in our balcony cabin on the Star last November. The shower was quite adequate as was the wash basin area, the commode area was incredibly tight and I have to wonder how larger men deal with such a small area.

Our hull balcony was adequate with room for two chairs and a small table. There was some rust showing on the ceiling and around the railings of the balcony.

 

 

 

 

 

The worst part of the balcony was the door “handle” to open the patio style door to get back into the cabin, it was in rough shape. I always left the door slightly ajar so I didn’t have to struggle with the handle area.

 

 

I don’t think I could cruise without a balcony. I love sitting on the balcony having a cup of coffee while watching an early morning sunrise.
