kaseyoz Posted April 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2015 The first brand new ship to sail here. Thank you Royal Caribbean. Now to wait for the itineraries to come out.
DEIx15x8 Posted April 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) This is an interesting move since they are converting her for the Chinese market. Seems like it would have made more sense to leave Quantum as is for this run and bring Ovation out ready for China permanently. We know Royal isn't the most accurate when it comes to deck plans or even advertising what you get, wonder if Ovation may be less converted than we all believe. Hopefully this means she'll be more like the original Quantum and Anthem so that if Explorer is successful next year they can have her do the Australia/Alaska rotation too. She'd be perfect for that weather and the North Star would be great for that route. I've had Australia on my radar for 2018/2019 so this could work out for me! Flash harriet Posted April 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2015 I am wondering which ports she will be able to call into? I can't imagine that Vanuatu Port Vila could handle her...and tenders for 5000 guests really doesnt appeal. Noumea might cope, but only just... tomatosauce Posted April 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2015 My guess would be that it is largely going to sail New Zealand itineraries. Having said that RC announced a few weeks ago that they will be investing in a few South Pacific ports.

Unlike Oasis class ships that do not tender guests the Quantum class ships are tendering guests. Quantum nd Anthem are calling at CocoCay and tendering there. roquejo Posted April 17, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 17, 2015 So Ovation will be like Voyager.. part Asia, part Australia while Quantum will be like Mariner... exclusively Asia Makes a lot of sense....
Cruiser Bruiser Posted April 17, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2015 I've been looking for a reason to sail RCI, and I'm especially curious about Quantum class. Since I've also wanted to go to Australia, this might be the perfect storm. I hope the itineraries are compelling.
clm1982 Posted April 19, 2015 #10 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Just got off radiance this morning and I'm so keen for ovation to come to Australia gives me 18 months to save. Hope she goes to New Zealand.
toad455 Posted April 21, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 21, 2015 I would assume RCCL will build a 4th Quantum-class ship also. One for Asia(Quantum), one for Australia(Ovation), one for the U.S.(Anthem) & one for Europe(seasonal, will spend winters in the Caribbean).
