slineberry528 Posted September 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2005 We have stayed in the Marriott in the Bayside area. Key Biscayne. Very nice hotel. YOu can see the port from the health club.
Bequia Posted September 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2005 Hi,Using "points" on this one so it really doesnt matter which one ... thanks First choice would be the JW Marriott on Brickell Ave. http://marriott.com/property/propertypage.mi?marshaCode=MIAJW Second choice would be Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay http://marriott.com/property/propertypage.mi?marshaCode=MIAJW They're both a short cab ride to the port. Both are great properties, JW is bit classier though;)
TrentS Posted September 10, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2005 I believe the poster above means the Biscayne Bay Marriott, as there's no Marriott on Key Biscayne and you most certainly can not see the port from Key Biscayne. You'll probably want to be in downtown Miami anyway. I prefer the JW Marriott, wonderful hotel in a great location. It's by far the nicest of the Miami Marriotts... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miajw Biscayne Bay Marriott has the best view of the port from their SE view rooms... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miabb The only other Marriott property downtown is a Courtyard... http://www.miamicourtyard.com/ If you want to be on the beach there's the South Beach Marriott, 10-15 minutes from downtown/Port of Miami... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/MIAMB And there's also a Courtyard in South Beach... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/MIACB

k2c2w Posted September 11, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Thanks for all the help ! :) Another question ... how far from the airport would the JW or the bay marriott be. We are a family of 6 ...arriving about 8 or so .. I figure leaving the airport around 8:30 pm. Trying to figure best way to get from airport to hotel . Thanks
TrentS Posted September 11, 2005 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2005 All of the downtown Marriotts are roughly 15-20 minutes from MIA. A taxi from the airport to downtown Miami is about $20, for 6 people you would need 2 though. You could also arrange for a limo or take SuperShuttle... http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/mia.htm
k2c2w Posted September 24, 2005 Author #10 Share Posted September 24, 2005 Thanks for the suggestions. Most posts I read seem to have good reviews picking the JW marriott or Biscayne Bay Marriott . I went with the JW ...thanks again for the suggestions
