Hi all Im not a total sun worshipper however I do like to sit on a lounger and read , Ive read that part of the Deck 18 sun deck is a no fee to pay sun deck is this correct ? If there is no charge to use this does it get very busy ? Im sailing the western Med in May/June . is it easy to pop to a bar from here for a drink ? or do waiters come up here ? and where are the nearest toilets? any info greatly received thank you . My first time on Epic

The entire area in green is open to the public. The forward area (up in the drawing) has the cushioned lounge chairs There are toilets on that level. I can not speak to the bar service question

Hi, there's a sun deck on deck 18, you reach it with the elevator right outside the garden cafe (or the stairs).

There's a public sun deck that is free, there are nice padded loungers all the way forward with a very nice view. It does get crowded there. However, there are also normal blue loungers on the port and starboard side.

There's also the access to the posh area when you leave the elevator, your key card is needed to access this (for a fee).

Toilets are available near the stairs. No bar, no regular waiter service. No shade either, apart from the dividers.

Thus was true for a med cruise in May 2014 and the transatlantic to Miami in fall 2014.

We were on Epic in mid March and they did setup a small bar one day on the free sun deck area with the padded loungers. There was one waiter that day serving drinks. Mostly beer and simple mixed drinks. No frozen drinks. Another day we were up there and it was very windy so they didn't setup a bar.

We got up there mid morning and we're still able to get padded loungers but by noon it was completely full. No shade up there so bring sunscreen. There is a shower so you can cool off from time to time.
