NCL Breakaway or Carnival Breeze

I am looking at May of 2016. The Breeze is an 8 night spa interior for 2595. It has 3 sea days and goes to D.R., Grand Turks, Aruba, and Curacao. I really want to go to Aruba and Curacao. The Breeze will be out of Miami so we will need to fly.

The Breakaway is out of New York (close enough to drive). It is only a 7 night trip but it is going to Bermuda which I have always wanted to go to also. This cruise would be an interior for 2025.

I am torn....does anyone have any thoughts on the ports or the ships themselves? I appreciate any input!

If it was me I would take the breeze the seas will be smoother but Bermuda I hear is very nice just a little rough to get there is the Breakaway a big ship? Maybe that will not be a issue

We sailed Breeze's itinerary on Conquest in February. Wonderful ports! We enjoyed them so much. We booked private excursions that were excellent.

We have sailed Breeze and LOVED her.

Breakaway to Bermuda is a totally different kind of cruise. The ship will be a floating hotel while docked in Bermuda. We have not sailed any NCL ships.

Good luck deciding.

Either..no help whatsoever...if you want to go more places the Breeze...if you wand to see Bermuda from a very nice floating Hotel..Breakaway...both have good food choices and entertainment...a slight plus to Breakaway for entertainment..just more restaurants and venues...but the Breeze is just all the best of New Carnival which we know is great...good luck..Sarah

I have not been on the Breeze, but have cruised Breakaway to Bermuda last May. It is a great ship as well and Bermuda is beautiful with plenty to do. It was our second cruise there. It all depends on which port(s) you would prefer. I love the extra days in Bermuda. Carnival did not have any cruises to Bermuda last year and I will not go on one there for less than the 2.5 days.

I think that when making a decision, it's best to remember what your goal is.

Is your goal to have more cruise days (then go with Breeze), to take advantage of whatever perks/status you are at (go with the line you have those on), go to ports you've never been to (not sure what your answer to this is), enjoy wonderful excursions (your preference) or to do something completely different and stay at an island for 3 days (Breakaway at Bermuda).

We are doing both ships, but I am more excited about the Breakaway, not because it's a mega mega ship, but because it offers something so completely unique...going to Bermuda on day one and not leaving until day three.

I will enjoy the Breeze when we sail on her, but I am super excited about not having to hurry, hurry, hurry at whatever port we are at to get back on the ship. I will actually have time to explore the place we sail to!

Thanks so much all for the responses. I think we have decided for sure on the Breeze. We want to see Bermuda as well as Aruba and Curacao so the deciding factor was the extra sea day and 2 new ports versus one. So excited! Now I just have to wait 375 days. At least I have my Liberty cruise in November to keep me going until then. :)

When it comes to Itinerary, the Breeze 100%!!

When it comes to the ship i am really not sure but i think the Breakaway is better.

If i had the Luck to choose between these two beautiful cruises i would choose the Breeze.

But i am sure it is unforgetable to sail from New York!!!

Ofcourse the extra day is very important

It is just a very hard choice to make, whatever cruise you may choose i hope you'll enjoy it!

I'm assuming on-board shops and casino is closed for the duration of while docked in Bermuda?

We were on the Breakaway last summer in Bermuda and the casino was open in the evenings.

Bermuda was a beautiful island and we really enjoyed having three days there.
