We (family 5) will go to Port, Livorno with Norwegian EPIC on 28 May, one day from 7:00am-7:00 pm. From what read it seems this is far away from Livorno to Florence and Pisa (90 minutes driving), so what is the best way in order to visit these two citites (or maybe only one city), should we book the tour through cruise ship, or with private tours (any recommendations please)? or Is it possible to rent a car near Port to drive own to visit two cities? any tips please, since this is our first trip to Italy

I am going to guess (based on your post) that this is your first visit to Italy). You could arrange for a rental car at the port (from Sifracar.com) but if you are not familiar with driving in Europe (especially Italy) and are not comfortable with a stick shift we think you should not get a car. For Florence and Pisa you can use the train, book a cruise line excursions, or perhaps join with some others and book a private tour (using the CC Roll Call board for your cruise is the best place to find others with whom to share a private tour).

If you just scroll down in the blog (or use search) you will find hundreds (even thousands) of posts about Livorno and how to get to other places like Florence.

I did the same cruise last year on the Epic, Barcelona to Barcelona and we did a private tour with 8 of us from the ship. We did it through Rome in Limo. It was awesome!! Our tour guide was amazing! Went to Positono, Sorrento, and Pompeii. Our tour guide picked us up at the port and dropped us off. We posted on CC and got out the 3 extras we needed for our tour group.
