We are doing the Fantasy at the end of the month...I would have loved to be upgraded but so far not yet :( I don't know how it is determined. I didn't select the room this time and i somewhat wish I had as we are booked on the Rivera Deck...last time I picked and were on the Empress deck which I loved! Hoping this will be just as nice but just farther elevator ride down LOL

I actually have a upper/lower (1A cat)booked now on Splendor.

 

However, the cabin has port holes and 1 twin bed and sofa bed.

 

Was real cheap and im expecting a call from CCL trying to pull more money from me for a better room.

 

If they dont call were happy with it

I have booked 1As several times when cruising solo, and have never been upgraded for free from a 1A. Carnival rarely does free upgrades. They do however do upsell calls and emails. If you book a guarantee, you might get a higher category than the guarantee you purchased when Carnival selects your cabin.
