cruisr Posted September 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2005 Hi all, Just a word about NYC on 9-14-05. The LARGEST gathering of world leaders ever to gather will be at the UN all this week with 9-14 being the busyiest, biggest day. There will be random street closings as well as random taxi searches according to the NYC news. This will especially effect anyone trying to come across town but will have a ripple gridlock effect all across the city. In addition, it is Fashion Week in NY. While, that is not going to cause random street closings and taxi searches it will add to the crowds/congestion on the West side and around 42nd ST and Bryant Park. FInally, it is also theater matinee day...There is always the most traffic in general on Wednesday due to all the people coming in for the matinees. Thought I mention this as travel time is going to take a LOT LONGER then it usually does midday in NYC and you certainly don't want to miss the boat. Good luck. Bon voyage.
