Private Excursion and Getting Off the Ship

We have booked some private excursions and need to get off the ship by a certain time to meet our guide and/or make ferry and rail connections. We appear to be docked at these ports and do not have to tender. Can anyone advise us of the procedure to disembark in a timely manner without having to wait for the Viking Tours to depart? Do we just let someone (?) know we need to get off? Thanks for the input.

I would NOT let anyone know you are an independent traveller. We did that in Split and got held back. I would just meld into one of the early tour groups as they leave the Star Theater. Letting someone know is asking for an issue to develop IMO.

We had a private tour the 1st day in Barcelona. Ship docked in the commercial port and the daily showed an 8:30 shuttle bus. I went to get a bottle of water and noticed the viking tours leaving the ship. So we just got off. There was no announcement. There were 8 people on that shuttle.
