TERRIER1 Posted May 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2015 We have booked some private excursions and need to get off the ship by a certain time to meet our guide and/or make ferry and rail connections. We appear to be docked at these ports and do not have to tender. Can anyone advise us of the procedure to disembark in a timely manner without having to wait for the Viking Tours to depart? Do we just let someone (?) know we need to get off? Thanks for the input.
rjscott Posted May 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2015 An announcement will be made when the ship has been cleared by local officials for disembarkation. At that time all passengers may proceed ashore. Becki
id4elizabeth Posted May 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2015 I would NOT let anyone know you are an independent traveller. We did that in Split and got held back. I would just meld into one of the early tour groups as they leave the Star Theater. Letting someone know is asking for an issue to develop IMO. sitraveler Posted May 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2015 We had a private tour the 1st day in Barcelona. Ship docked in the commercial port and the daily showed an 8:30 shuttle bus. I went to get a bottle of water and noticed the viking tours leaving the ship. So we just got off. There was no announcement. There were 8 people on that shuttle.
