Nassau snorkeling... booking right at port?

Are there private snorkeling companies at the Nassaue port soliciting biz?

We are unsure we want to snorkel, but would like the option. In Grand Cayman there were tons of private operators soliciting business.

Thanks... wondering the same for St. Thomas (and will post in that thread also).

We booked beforehand online for Stuart's Cove. It was only $40.00 per person and we absolutely loved it.
Okay, but I'm not looking to book beforehand. Was there a representative of Stuart's Cove outside the boat picking up passengers and any straglers who wanted to join? thanks

No, generally there are no boats hawking their tours. Most are filled up when the cruiseships are in. Waiting til you arrive may not be a good idea. You may find a few, quicky trips, like Thriller boat (20 min ride) or Parasailing, but snorkeling tours are all booked ahead of time. If a huge boat, like the Yellowbird is not overbooked, they may allow you to pay onboard, but if more that a couple of boats are in port that day, it's likely they will be booked solid.

You can wait until the day before your trip if you book independently, but you'll need at least a day or two in advance to get a decent trip.

They don't always have room on the boat.. you're taking a chance. SC is pretty strict about how many people it will take out at any given time.

If you'll be ok with NOT getting out for the day, they wait it out. If not, book before you go, or at least give them a call and see if theyh are full.

Thank for the input folks. Yeah, we don't care if we miss it. Enough to do walking around and we will probably already have had our fill of snorkeling on other islands. Just trying to figure our options.
