Not "cheaper" the 2nd day... it's just that you pay for one less day if you buy it then.

The Unlimited Plan is $24.99 per day. You can wait until 10pm of the 2nd day to purchase, but you are buying it for all the days remaining.

There is also a $3.95 activation fee for any plan.

On the Jewel the 2nd day rate started at noon. I purchased the unlimited plan at 1pm on the Jewel, 2nd day of 7 day cruise, and paid a total of $149.94

There was no $3.95 activation fee for the unlimited plan.

The plan was good until noon on disembarkation day so we were still able to use it on my ipad while waiting for wheelchair escort off ship.

To OP: I do not know if it is available on Gem.

Like others said, unlimited wifi is available on all ships and it's $24.99 a day. Getting the internet on the 2nd day just saves you $24.99.

Does anyone know if it's for the whole room or just one phone? Like can my husband and I both use it or is it 24.99 per person per night?

It's for one device only. However, if you or your husband forgot to logout, you can actually kick each other off by ending the other person's connection.

You can register it on more than one device but only one device at a time can use it.
