are casinos open embarkation night dream

Recommended Posts

That is not true. The casino is open within an hour of setting sail. I would say anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour. You do not have to wait until you are off the river or in International waters.

I have sailed the Dream and the Elation out of New Orleans and was on the Dream as recent as April of this year.

Great news. I have not seen them do that anywhere else. Tampa is a long boat ride out and they didn't open till we hit international waters. That should make the cruiser happy

The slots open between 30 minutes and an hour after leaving port. Table games when in international waters, usually one hour after port but my experience is around two hours in most ports. Tampa is the big exception as the long distance to the mouth of the bay means the casino didn't open until 8pm and 12am (ship was almost standing still on the whole trip out of the bay) on my two cruises from there.

I would think the difference between Florida and Louisiana would be the difference in their respective gambling laws. There are "boats" on the river in Louisiana that never leave the dock but because they are floating they meet the requirements for river gambling. I am not sure what the laws are in Florida.
