Emperor Norton Posted May 31, 2015 #26 Share Posted May 31, 2015 I think SB considers itself lucky if most of its passengers have the fortitude to do one excursion a day, let alone two. I win then. In 24hrs I did 4 or was it 5? Sent via squirrels and a rotary phone
Aapreciate Posted June 1, 2015 Author #27 Share Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) Whew!! SAS strike threat settled so I made it to Copenhagen. Mom flew KLM from Florida so we met up in the airport and are enjoying a jet lag day today. :). Took a canal tour, had a leisurely outdoor lunch, and mom got a nap. Tomorrow it's the Rosenborg Slot (castle) and Crown Jewels, then embark on Silversea for a week!! Very excited!! Will keep you posted. Plan to take a cab from the hotel at about 2. Really appreciate all the nice comments and tips. Thanks for reading! Edited June 1, 2015 by Aapreciate
PaulaJK Posted June 1, 2015 #28 Share Posted June 1, 2015 You have to factor in that tours frequently return late to the ship...at least many of mine have. Do agree that full descriptions of the tour lead to the best individual decisions.
Emperor Norton Posted June 2, 2015 #29 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Getting back after midnight (An Evening at Catherines Palace) followed by getting up at 4 for the Moscow tour was a killer.
Winner Posted June 2, 2015 #30 Share Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) I believe Aapreciate and her mother are touring on their own before their cruise. Edited June 2, 2015 by Winner
WindyRidgeRanch Posted June 30, 2015 #31 Share Posted June 30, 2015 We are deciding on a Carribbean trip on one of these.... I have read that the Silversea is poorly lacking, and I fear dropping $12,000 on an old/dirty ship

Aapreciate Posted January 9, 2016 Author #33 Share Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) I want to apologize to everyone for not being able to complete this analysis. I ended up developing, perhaps from hauling luggage, a critical problem with my cervical spine which made my hands stop working. I have now had successful two level spinal disc replacement and will be cruising on Crystal in July. Truly, I loved both lines. I would give the design edge to Silversea and food to Seabourn. Looking forward to experiencing Crystal again. Very sorry to have fallen off the face of the earth for a while here but have finally recovered. I had read your Silversea board posts, and was keenly awaiting your thoughts about SB, particularly as you were cruising such a lovely part of the world. Thanks for coming back to update, and wishing you a super Crystal cruise in the summer.
