Cawdor or Dunrobin castle ?

Recommended Posts

We plan to tour one of these castles on an upcoming cruise . Which would you recommend ? Thanks !

We loved Cawder Castle--have not been to Dunrobin, but understand it has a great falconry demonstration. Cawder has been in the same family for centuries, and the current Dowager Countess still lives in the Castle. It feels like a family home and the tour was very good. The gardens are beautiful and they have a lovely tearoom. If you enjoy gardens, Cawder might be the place for you. Also, you are very close to the Culloden Battlefield, which has a wonderful visitor's centre. Don't miss stopping in for an hour to see this historic place. They also have a good cafeteria for lunch or tea.

Thankyou for the response. DH thinks the falconry demonstration sounds interesting. Both castles look wonderful. That might put Dunrobin inthe lead.
