ahzach Posted May 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) I know there is no comparison between the two cruise lines but is an outside cabin with a window on Disney worth three times the price of a balcony cabin on Costa Pacifica for the same number of days and itenary? Never been on neither Costa or Disney. I 've only been on the NCL Jade and Star. Thanks. Edited May 29, 2015 by ahzach
moki'smommy Posted May 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) Well, I'm a little wary of Costa. I've read it is one of the lines owned/operated by Carnival, and I'm quite unimpressed with Carnival's safety record. I assume you are referring to the June 29 cruise in your other post. OK, I would not pay 3 times the money for Disney, especially if you are not a Disney regular. The last time I looked, that cruise was selling for over 12K for 9 nights, 2 people in a porthole cabin. I guess good for DCL if they can get that from people. IMHO, they need to get a dose of reality. And the fact that another line can do it for 1/3 the price tells you that even with the "Disney differences," they are making a killing. The other lines still have fuel and staff costs, but make money from a casino and soda cards as well as more restaurant upcharges. moki'smommy Posted May 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Your recent post references a young teen....that might make a huge difference in your choice of ship. Think about what the kid is going to do on those many sea days and what is offered on Costa vs. DCL.
