Dream - 18th July

Recommended Posts

Have just booked the Dream for the 18th July and am a first time cruiser !

Have booked an outside plus cabin, currently allocated generally to decks 7/9. I would be grateful to hear of others experiences on board "Dream" but specifically is it worth paying the £42 to choose a cabin and avoid any dodgy ones !

Deck 7 seems to be completely reserved for cabins, while Deck 9 is shared and has a limited number of cabins. Higher up = better view ? or is Deck 7 more than high enough already ?

Apologies if these kind of questions have been asked before and if there is a newbies corner then please direct me to it.

Any "dream" info would be gratefully received.

We always go for deck 9 about 14 cruise now mainly because of the location, the wife likes to be on promenade never had a problem with noise. We do pay the £42 because we have found a cabin we like but I would suggest for the first time you don't unless you want to guarantee which deck as all the cabins are the same. Have a great time☺☺

Have look at my brief report on this site 6th June 'DREAM UPDATE' you will also have a very good duo in Tides @2 Intense' you can view them on YouTube look under 2 intense Thomson dream entertainment

No restricted views on deck 9 or 7. Deck 9 looks out onto the deck and you do see passengers walking past but they cannot see you unless you have the lights on at night and curtains open. We like the idea of being able to pop back to the cabin if you are sunbathing, odd numbers look out onto the smoking side evens onto non smoking may be useful. ;)

imo deck 9 does have (some minor) obstructions.... there are davits/ladders/pipes/stacks of sunbeds etc and the ships rail

plus people milling about outside (especially by the ashtrays....24/7btw) during sailaways people will line up all along the rail

during the daytime people could be sitting/standing outside your window

the crew washdown the promenade every morning (early) then put out rows of sunbeds (and stack them all away again each night)

at night you will need to keep your curtains drawn....so you wont be able see out (so that others outside cant see in)

higher decks sway more in choppy conditions

however... yes deck 9 is very convenient for the facilities on deck 8 just one flight of stairs away (but so is deck 7....there are no obstructed cabins on deck 7 afaik)
