fishoutofwater Posted September 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Can't seem to find an answer to this. Would water shoes or tennis shoes be better for this trip???
DEL67 Posted September 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2005 We wore old sneakers and had no problem with the sand. And I think that old sneakers would be better than sandals if you have to traverse several muddy areas as we did.
Susky Posted September 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2005 I wore cheap (Wal-Mart $5 special) water shoes...and I did just fine. Unfortunately, I left them in the van when we returned to the dock area. I'm wondering who might have found a home for a pair of blue size 14 boats... IamCdn Posted September 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2005 Don't worry too much about the shoes for this excursion. I wouldn't go out and buy something or bother to pack extra footwear for your cruise. You have enough things to bring. Your feet will get wet right at the beginning of the hike as you walk accross the river which is up to your knees or so depending on the previous rain condition. It is a little rocky here so go slow and watch your footing - the guides all help. You will encounter sand, dust, and mud during the hike. If you are bringing old sneakers, water shoes or sandals with you on the cruise then use whatever you bring. Otherwise rent watershoes when you get to the park. An earlier post said $2 but I think it was $3 in Aug - no big deal. Happy tubin'
