Tickets For Sold Out Ship?

If Carnival says the ship is sold out, it's sold out. They will sell cabins if they have them available, and sometimes when they aren't available... you can get on a waiting list with Carnival in case anyone cancels. Generally, they overbook slightly because there are always cancellations... you may or may not have any luck...

I'm not sure what date you are looking for, but sometimes a ship will show as sold out because t/a's have a hold on blocks of cabins for group bookings. Then a few months before the cruise they will be required to release any unbooked group cabins, so availability for that cruise will suddenly appear. You can also usually bet on cabins becoming available about a week or two after final payments are due - once Carnival starts cancelling reservations for those that didn't pay up.

I guess we need some clarification... there is a big difference between a sold out ship, and a site not showing availability. If Carnival has TOLD you that the ship is sold out, then it is sold out... but if you are just guessing at it being sold out, then like Deb said, wait until closer to the cruise date and check.

Generally, ships have been sailiing at 97-104% of capacity. They do not sell standing room only. Further, if they have entertainers coming onboard at one to the ports to perform, they have to have accomodations for them. On Royal Caribbean's Brilliance, we had the Platters come on board in St Lucia to perform later in the cruise. They may also hold a cabin or two for quarantined guests, illnes or behavior problems such as criminal activities.
