Matt M, the Olympic diver?

No. The Matt Mitcham being referred to here is the Cruise Director on the Breeze. I'd say he's probably one of the top two or three CD's at Carnival.

I never cared about the CD until I sailed with Matt. He's amazing. We are looking for a cruise end of summer and Matt being back from vacation could sway us toward the Breeze.

For what it's worth, Emerson (The Good Rev. Dr.E) is covering for Matt while he's on vacation. I've sailed with both of them a few times and Dr.E is definitely cut from the same CD cloth! Would love sailing with either of them again :)

I loved Dr. E. As someone said about Matt, I felt the same about Dr. E. I didn't even know who the cruise director was until him.

The only thing I will say negative about Emerson, you'll love him or you'll hate him. He is full of energy and isn't afraid to express himself.

Those dates are perfect. It's down to the Breeze and Oasis. Breeze has an awesome itinerary and MM, and the Oasis is the Oasis.

I vote for the Breeze and MM. Like you, I never cared about a CD until I had the pleasure of sailing with MM and his asst CD at the time Emerson. Best CD twosome ever. And MM is so cute he makes my eyes water. I'm jelly.

I know right??? He's so dreamy and that voice! He literally picked me up off the floor when I fell in front of 300 people. [emoji7]

Hi - We sail on Breeze in 9 days. I've been on Oasis twice, this is our first time on Breeze. You don't have a signature with prior cruises, have you been on either Breeze or Oasis? If you've been on both, I'd like to hear what you think.

If you haven't I can let you know the beginning of July when we will sadly be back on dry land after our 6 days with Breeze.

I love love love Oasis but I am also very much looking forward to our Spa Balcony on Breeze and all that Breeze has to offer.

I've sailed both Allure and Breeze. Allure was incredible, for us bigger is better. There was nothing we didn't love about Allure. The only inconvenience was our room was the very last room aft, next door to the secret balcony. It took forever to get to!

Breeze is a very nice ship. I find Carnival ships harder to navigate- lots of zigging and zagging and I really like the Promenades on RC ships. The pools are way too small on Breeze, the aft pool is tiny and usually overrun by kids. The hot tubs were closed at night, on the 2 RC ships I've been on at least one cantilevered hot tub was always open. No pool in the adult area.

Food on Breeze is awesome!!!!! Also, the movies at night are great. It's a fun atmosphere for sure. Piano bar was great as well. You'll love the Breeze. Awesome crew. Everyone is super friendly and never had a hard time finding a bartender. There are lots of options and you won't be bored. Just don't compare it to Oasis!

Ship wise, Allure wins. Overall cruise experience wise, Breeze was the best we have been on.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Well you have us beat by about 3 rooms. We were 3rd room from the secret balcony on Oasis, with a balcony over the boardwalk - which I absolutely loved as something different. But yes, it was a very long walk to go back to the stateroom.

Thanks for your comparison, I have read some that are strictly one ship or the other and I'm sure I'll be more mixed like you. I've heard that the comedy shows are great on Carnival but the wait is long. I did like that you could make reservations with Royal. Made me feel like I was going on a date night. And I am disappointed in the limited pools on Carnival but was on Oasis twice and the ADULT only was never supervised very well and kids were always in the ADULT pool.

What room did you have on Carnival? We were tempted to try a Cove but ended up with a Spa Balcony. I am looking forward to enjoying the peace and quiet at the Spa.

So did you decide - Oasis or Breeze? I'd like to do Allure since it will be back next summer.

Enjoy where ever you sail - I know I will. :)

Breeze won hands down. We couldn't ignore the itinerary. It's incredible. Plus, it's 8 days. We had an interior room on Breeze last time, and it was adequate. We booked kind of last minute. It was our first interior and probably our last. This time around we are doing a cove.

I really want to sail Oasis class again, I just wish they'd get more exciting itineraries. And dump Nassau! We prefer eastern vs. western and Oasis had the same itinerary we sailed on Allure. The western was ok, but we are going to those same ports on Indy in April.

Honestly, if I could merge 2 ships and make my own dream ship, it'd be Allure and Breeze.

So funny - I agree about the ports. We liked St. Maarten a lot and could definitely skip Nassau. We also like Cozumel and can definitely skip Jamaica. We really did like LaBadee, clean, friendly, relaxing day.

We would have done the 8 day but are taking our 32 and 22 year old sons so the expense and timing didn't work. Thought we'd do Breeze 8 day next summer but Carnival announced this week that they are moving up the Breeze move to Texas sooner that originally planned. Next summer 8 days are on Valor and from Port Canaveral. Valor is a different, smaller class ship. I like the 4 days at see but we will have a lot to think about before booking on a smaller ship. Allure is back next summer and they changed the itineraries a little, so will look at them again. Well enjoy your trip. We leave one week from today - can't wait.

Enjoy yours too. Try to stop by Fat Jimmys Sea Side BBQ on sea days. There's a huge line but it goes fast and we really liked it. And if you happen to visit the Piano Bar, could you let me know who the piano man is? In February it was Ben Gentry and he was awesome! Have fun! [emoji572]️

We, or at least the rest of my family, will be at the BBQ - I'm not a BBQ fan like the rest of us.

Me - I will be at the Piano Bar. Oasis, I loved the Rising Tides and the Champagne lounge. So I figure the Piano Bar will be for me on Breeze.

I'll let you know what I am sadly back home.

Back from Breeze...

Piano player was new, not Ben Gentry. He was absolutely great at the 88 Keys preshow. But we went to Piano Bar one night and he was late, drunk, bordering being rude and had no voice left. Very disappointed.

Show were GREAT!

Very DISAPPOINTED in ship layout around casino. No doors on casino so smoke filled the shopping area and mid ship elevators. Oasis has non-smoking area, a way to walk around the casino without having to go outside and doors so the smoke doesn't get out. I guess we are non-smoking snobs, but this was a real problem.

I also paid extra for a Spa room. Amenities and Cloud 9 personnel also disappointing. T-pool great, but I didn't need to pay extra for a slightly special hot tub.

We were hot and cold on customer service. Asked to speak with a manager in the Spa and was told she was too busy. That was day 4 and she never had time for me. GS desk was also rude. Robert in ATD and his team were GREAT! We were deck 12, our steward was awesome. Our sons on deck one had no interaction by their steward except he locked the refrigerator the night before we were back. The boys could not have cold water, he took their water bottles out of the frig and let them get warm.

DH and I really want to do a southern cruise, and can't travel in winter when Royal does their 8 days from Florida. But Royal and Oasis class would win our loyalty far before cruising on Carnival again.

Funny thing was we cruised Carnival 10 years ago and I had trouble with my card to the point of being embarrassed by the crew. Same thing happened trying to get off. I had gone to CS because they only charged part of my account to my credit card, leaving a balance. I was told this was a glitch and that it was fixed. Then trying to get off, well, crew let everyone around me know that my bill wasn't paid and I couldn't get off.

So, have fun and enjoy the Southern trip. But next time I'm booking, it's back to Royal for us.
