Raxter54 Posted June 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2015 If you put your smartphone on airplane mode, so it wouldn't link into the on-board cell net, could you still use the phone's wifi capability? That would be really sweet.....

That would be really sweet..... I don't know if it's possible for all cell phones but I just put my note 4 in airplane mode and then turned on wifi and I am chatting with you on my cell phone in airplane mode. We are cruising on the Legend in September and have 5 sea days right off the bat - was so hoping to have the new plan by then, but apparently not...

That would be really sweet..... Yes you can. Turn on airplane mode and then turn on wifi. It works this way in every iPhone and Android device I've owned. Raxter54 Posted June 20, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2015 Jana60/CruiseReg - thanks for the information. I wanted to know mostly for my niece and her husband, who will be wanting to check up on their two young daughters staying with their Nana. This should ease their minds.
