briehon Posted June 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Sailing December 23. Actually spending 2 days in Ft Lauderdale prior to cruise. I M dropping off people at the FLL airport the morning of the 23rd. I can drive my rental to the port of Miami or I can get some transport to the port from FLL. Either way I will need to get from port of Miami to FLL. I prefer a private limo. Anyone have a reliable company for either?
cb at sea Posted June 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2015 I would simply drive the rental to Miami....be a whole lot less than hiring a limo! I know a taxi from Ft. Laud. to Miami is almost $100.. so I'm sure a limo will be more than that!
moki'smommy Posted June 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Actually, it depends on what you want. A private limo is costly, but there are shuttle services that operate for as little as $11 per person. The downside is that these are shared shuttles, not private. They will book 6-10 people in the vehicle. They do track flight arrivals so you are not kept waiting if another passenger is on a flight that arrives late or whatever. Dropping your car at FLL and catching the shuttle is not a big deal. But driving on your own and dropping the car near the Port of Miami is likely to be easier. briehon Posted June 20, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted June 20, 2015 We probably will drop the car in Miami and get some kind of shuttle back. Anyone recommend a certain company?
floridianny Posted June 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2015 We just did this in February. Found out on this website that Budget has a drop off location in Miami close to port. We did this and it worked out nicely. The drop off was quick and they have constant shuttle vans running to the ships. I think it took about 15 minutes to get dropped off at the ship. The location is great. Only thing was the directions from Budget's website were a bit vague so it took us a few extra minutes to find the place, but not too bad. Yes, finding that location was a little bit of a challenge! We could see it but not get to it!
