flashdog_1 Posted September 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2005 I haven't decided yet if Philadelphia or Newark will be our arrival airport for a trip on Celebrity Horizon or Zenth. Cab fare/shuttle rate from Philadelphia to pier? Cab fare/shuttle rate from Newark airport to Cape Liberty? Doing my own air so will not get a free transfer. Anyone know approximately what the cruise lines charge for a transfer? Thanks
flashdog_1 Posted September 18, 2005 Author #2 Share Posted September 18, 2005 Read a review of a recent cruiser who said it was a 20 minute cab ride from the Newark airport to Port Liberty, and cost $36.
Mabers Posted September 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2005 Anybody know the cab fare to pier in Philly? Thanks, M.
flashdog_1 Posted September 23, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted September 23, 2005 I called Celebrity today to find out how much their transfers cost. they are $42 per person round trip PHL to dock and dock to PHL. $40 per person round trip Newark to Port Liberty and return to airport. This seems comparable to the cab fares for two with tip, with the benefit of the cruise line knowing you are on the way.

I live in the Philly area and depending on traffic/road construction it's a ten/fifthteen minute ride to the Navy Yard cruise terminal from the airport.I'd guess the cab fare at $30 + tip. Cabs at the airport are readily available....for a savings of $24 I'd take the cab.
