TravelAddict4300 Posted June 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2015 Any suggestions on where to have a nice lunch on GC. Not worried about cost - just want to go somewhere where they have good authentic food. We are 40+, no children and just like to take our time getting up and maybe getting in a workout before seeing GC. We want to take advantage of the ship being less crowded. Would like to see the island as well since it is our first time.
Capt_BJ Posted June 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2015 we prefer "My Bar" at Sunset House http://www.compasscayman.com/whatshot/2014/09/02/Sunset-House--My-Bar-A-legendary-local-favorite/ http://cdn1.buuteeq.com/upload/27773/restaurant-snack-menu-nov-10-8_.pdf but what is 'local food' in Cayman? IMO that would mean turtle. Are you up for a turtle burger? Then try Paradise, right on the edge of town ... http://paradiserestaurant.ky/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/PARADISE-LUNCH-MENU.pdf http://paradiserestaurant.ky/ Across the Street is Guy Harvey's place, also popular and quite good http://www.guyharveysgrill.com/
drew sailbum Posted June 25, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2015 Nice. Very close to the port. Nice water view. Not usually overrun with the cruise crowd. And some good local seafood among other options. That's Guy Harvey's Island Grill. Cayman has a lots of "island style" places, but most are targeting the local population rather than the tourist trade.
