Suggestions for Bordeaux Tours

We will be on the Marina in September stopping in Verdon/Bordeaux. I am counting on all you well traveled Oceania CC members to give me advice on tours. The ship's tours seem very pricey. Thanks so much! Rich from LA:confused:

The best advice usually is to check out your Roll Call for this cruise. That is where private tours will be discussed. Enjoy your cruise.

Lucky you, it is a gorgeous city. The city of Bordeaux has a very well established tourist bureau offering a multitude of tours. They are well executed and sensibly priced. Also take a look at Trip Advisor for current information. We went on-line far before our cruise to plan our tours. If you are adventurous please find the La Rose du Tunis bakery for some unexpected treats, and a walk in that part of the city was very enlightening for us.

 

I agree that the Oceania tours are pricey.

I agree with everything that has been said about the stop in Bordeaux. When we were there last September we were part of a small group tour organised by a fellow cruiser with Dewey Markham. It was truly outstanding. His tours are designed for people who are interested in wine but extend past that. You can check him out through Google.

We did a fantastic tour with Bordeaux-excursions. They were great. Small group - six from memory and we had a beautiful day in this amazing part of the world.
