srphnx Posted April 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Don't know but you could try to go through the Horizon court backwards, much better exercise and you will learn new colorful phrases from some people that look to nice to know those words. Alaska Diamond Princess 05/04 Mercury 06/02 Rhapsody o.t. sneekpeek Posted April 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2004 I was on the Diamond and I'm not sure what you mean. There are two small pools that are too small to swim laps. The other two pools, are full size pools that are overfilled. When the ship tilts the water overflows on to the decking. There's a two foot wall around the decking so the water doesn't spill out to the sun bathing area. We had two days of choppy water and the kids had a ball in the pool. You could practically "surf" the waves. Does this answer your question. I wasn't sure what you meant.
stepg Posted April 10, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Yes, I was on the inaugural, and the "swim against the current lap pool" is identical to the ones on the Grand class ships.
Salty Dawg Posted April 10, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2004 We find it much easier to swim WITH the current. Enjoy the pool, as we did numerous times on the Golden. kimba_99 Posted April 10, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 10, 2004 stepg... thanks for the info. I prefer to swim rather than jog or walk for exercise. Guest Posted April 10, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 10, 2004 The pool with the current is in the center of the spa (but outdoors). Even though it's in the spa, there is no charge for its use. (Tip: The current isn't always "running;" sometimes you have to push the button to get it started.) Alan Wilson Cruise News Daily
