A Little Concerned Now a Couple of Questions

I ordered $2000 worth of gift cards (4 x $500) on Friday and the Verizon site says they were shipped on Sunday. I just called and they said that they were sent regular mail. I thought the $500 cards were sent UPS. Has anyone received there $500 gift cards from USPS?

 

Also if I put a courtesy hold on a room today does it lock in the rate if the sale is over today?

My last 2 holds were 48 hrs, it should say on your hold page.
