take us away Posted July 24, 2015 #26 Share Posted July 24, 2015 That sounds like a great product. Do you have any more information about it or "The Source?" Can't find it online. Thanks! Amazon has several different types and styles of bed risers for less than $20 (USD).
OlsSalt Posted July 24, 2015 #27 Share Posted July 24, 2015 What are legs of a HAL beds actually like - to know what kind of risers to bring along? Circumference of the leg, wheels or solid footed bottoms? Or are the standard ones offered on Amazon just fine as is. Thanks.
ICtheC Posted July 25, 2015 #28 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Hmmmm can't remember exactly what the legs looked like - the room steward installed the risers for me - they must have fit as they were there for the whole world cruise! and we did hit some rough water. My risers are standard and they fit just fine.
solocanadian Posted July 25, 2015 #29 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Have you considered "Big Texas Hair?" It not only eliminates the need for the turning, but it also helps to protect against falling objects. The Houston version is impact rated up to a Category 2 hurricane. Brian, you are too much!!! feathersandnananose Posted August 2, 2015 #30 Share Posted August 2, 2015 I'm late to this discussion, but there are also inflatable bed wedges (search Amazon)........ but you need to take a pump, because doing them yourself (blowing them up with lung power).... is quite exhausting. And then, they are a pain to deflate. Sheesh! But my foam wedge is enormous when considered for travel.....

blizzardboy Posted August 2, 2015 #32 Share Posted August 2, 2015 They have wedges available. I can't remember if I put in a request in advance, or just asked the steward. Seems to me they even had a couple different sizes.
serendipity1499 Posted August 3, 2015 #33 Share Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) I use an extra pillow...:) Hmmmm can't remember exactly what the legs looked like - theroom steward installed the risers for me - they must have fit as they were there for the whole world cruise! and we did hit some rough water. My risers are standard and they fit just fine. DH & I have adjustable beds at home & I keep the head of mine raised about 3 inches above DH's & still use two pillows.. Our beds at home are side by side but DH likes his to be flat.. So I use extra pillows on the ship.. Also put a pillow under my knees, as have a tendency to get leg cramps when I forget to drink Tonic with quinine during the day..:) Edited August 3, 2015 by serendipity1499
