flipflop59 Posted July 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Have this excursion booked on the Carnival Ecstasy in September. Lunch is included. Has anyone done this and know where the lunch is or perhaps it changes up with every excursion ? Any thoughts on this excursion would be welcomed as well. We understand that there is no time for shopping which is fine since we have been to this area a few times.
lincolnillinois Posted July 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Enjoyed this shore excursion. We were on the Carnival Dream in January. The lunch was at a club located on the beach. It was a buffet with chicken of some sort, fruit, chips and salsa with some specialty fish salsa. I am a picky eater and found something to eat. My husband liked the meal. Looking for the turtles was great--I think we saw 5 or 6. We also spotted stingrays. The water was crystal clear and the beach was nice. We had a good guide and restrooms were available. The denote normally used was closed because of an earthquake the previous week so we went to an open air one. The water was brisk but crystal clear. There were many small fish swimming with us. No flippers were allowed at this site. We are returning in January and seriously considering doing this trip again.

duncan449 Posted August 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2015 We are looking at doing this in December, but after reading some of the reviews was worried about all the travel time... seems you spend most of the day going from place to place instead of actually swimming? flipflop59 Posted August 17, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Agree about the amount to time for the entire excursion. After some discussion, we just cancelled today. Per Carnival, the excursion runs from 1:30 - 8:30 (approx). To much running around, making for a long day. This is our third visit to the area and I'm sure we'll plan to do this on a land vacation. I decided against it as well, we booked a private jeep excursion for $69pp, 5 hours. You get to choose where you go and what you see. Takes you snorkeling, provides lunch, and anything else you want to do! Cheaper than Carnivals excursion, and your not locked into anything. cozumelcruiseexcursions . NET (there is a .com too, but .NET is trustworthy) They also have an awesome snorkeling tour that we nearly booked too.
