What to do?

I've been to Belize twice and both times we didn't do anything but walk around the shopping area and the water was nasty but I don't know if it is always like that or did we go at a bad time. A lot of people I've talked to said Belize was their favorite port. I would like to know what is the best thing to do there.

This is a port that screams for a tour. To see anything worth seeing you need to get out of town. Cave tubing is a hoot. We did a snorkel trip to Cay Caulker and one to Bannister Island that were good. I must agree with you about the nasty water at the Tourist Village. When we arrived on our first visit that was the first thing that I noticed. Brown silty water with 20 kinds of trash floating in it does not make for good photo ops.:(
