linda55 Posted July 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Hi Does anyone know the arrangements for disembarkation in Hong Kong? We are flying from Hong Kong to LHR, our flight leaves at 23.30. What time do we have to leave the ship? What are the arrangements for luggage? Any information would be welcome.
4774Papa Posted July 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2015 HiDoes anyone know the arrangements for disembarkation in Hong Kong? We are flying from Hong Kong to LHR, our flight leaves at 23.30. What time do we have to leave the ship? What are the arrangements for luggage? Any information would be welcome. We are booked on the Japan and China cruise, 25 Oct that ends in Hong Kong. We have an overnight there before disembarkation. I have been going over the options with fellow cruisers on what to do that last day. Our flight departs at 12:50AM the next morning, so I arranged for a day rate at a hotel near the airport. We plan on arriving at the hotel after lunch. Normally, you must leave the ship to disembark by 9AM. That has been our experience on Celebrity and NCL. You can request a specific time to disembark or self-disembark carrying your own luggage. Options are 1) take the Celebrity tour of HK (good if you haven't been there) that ends at the airport. 2) take youi own taxi to the airport. 3) find a private tour that will also take you to the airport. Not much to choose from there. 4) If your airline has early check-in, you can check your luggage and get your boarding bass at the Kowloon Airport Express station, then do some siteseeing in the area, then hop on the airport express to the airport. Since you have a late evening flight, consider a day rate at a hotel. We are staying at Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel.
suekay Posted August 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Good advice from 4774Papa. We were on Millenium last year and our flight was also 23.30. We booked a room at the Dorsett Mongkok as they offfered 24 hour check-in. We went direct from the ship, dropped our bags and went sightseeing. On our return we were able to shower, change, nap before taking a taxi to the airport. IMHO worth the cost to avoid feeling like a refugee for the day. BTW the rooms are the tiniest I've ever seen☺
