amiryghb Posted September 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2005 I have been trying and trying to see pictures taken by a Carnival photographer to get an idea of the quality. I saw pictures from a bride that got married on the Valor but her pictures are all posed "traditional" pictures inside the ship in front of a backdrop. While I do want some "traditional" pictures (posing with family and friends) I mostly want a photojournalism approach (i.e. photographer capturing the candid "kodak" moments :) My ceremony is going to be outdoors in Shaw Park Garden in Jamaica and I also want pictures taken on the beach. I guess I am just worried that the Carnival photographers are just there to take traditional posed pictures and don't really have the "eye" of a photojournalist.....yes/no??
surrocruiser Posted September 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2005 Is anyone traveling with you that usually takes fairly good photos? Most of my friends that have gotten married have liked the ones I take better than the professional b/c I know my subjects and that makes me capture their personalitiaes better. Plus, to have a whole roll of 35 mm film developed as 5x7 is much cheaper than the professionals. Good luck to you.
