Credit Card Charges Prior To Sailing

DH and I are prebooking our excursions for our Epic sailing in November. I always like to prebook to ensure the excursions we want aren't sold out. We also have the $75 credit per port. A few questions:

1. Has anyone else had their credit card charged for the excursion prior to sailing. Not a hold, but a regular charge?

2. With the credit, will NCL refund us the difference once on board?

We haven't sailed with NCL in two years. When we sailed with HAL and Princess, we were charged after sailing.

Thanks in advance for any info.

To be able to book excursions with your $75 credit, you must call the number included with your booking. Otherwise, trying to do it online will in fact require the credit card and it will be charged when booked. After speaking with the Shorex desk, pre-cruise, it will show an additional balance due. Do not be concerned with this as the excursion credit will be applied to that balance once you board and any remaining balance for the excursions will be charged to your onboard acct.

Edited to add Shorex number 866-625-1167.
