On board booking specials- how special?

Recommended Posts

We are planning on a June 2017 Baltic cruise with NCL.

The 2017 Baltic schedule will likely be out in Nov'15. We will be on board in March'16 for our first NCL cruise.

Question is how good are the deals offered while on board to book our next cruise? Things that are valuable to us are (in order) - 3/4th guest free, upgrade cabin(book balcony- upgrade to suite, low deposit, book OV upgrade to balcony)& unlimited drink package for 1&2 guests.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts-

Sharon

To my knowledge, none of the above. They will offer you the opportunity to buy future cruise credits. They are $250 dollar vouchers. That being said, you get $100 OBC for current cruise if you buy one. So, you're really paying $150 for $250 off your next cruise. If you buy more future cruise vouchers the percentage goes up. Drawback - You can only use 1 voucher per future cruise.

You use each voucher for $250 off your each reservation. You get whatever promo's are available at that time. These vouchers only count for new reservations. So, if you already have a trip booked, and just haven't made the final payment, the vouchers are useless for that cruise.

Sorry but your knowledge is outdated. They have the new program that is described on the page you linked, Cruisenext Ultimate, where you book a specific future cruise while onboard and receive an extra perk by doing so.

Sorry for the outdated information. Demonyte is absolutely correct.

I did a little checking though, and you need to do some homework to get the best deal for you. There are 4 options in the Cruisenext Ultimate deal. Currently there are more/different options of you go home and book from there with your TA or NCL directly. Not much difference. But for now, as an example, you can get free gratuities if you book from home. That's not an option with CruiseNext Ultimate. I also believe with these vouchers you can make only one change, once booked. So, you could book on the ship, then if you saw a better offer, make the change then.
