amhcruise Posted August 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2015 I've read several reviews about the open-air taxi ride from the cruise ship to the catamaran docks being quite a thrill ride. Can anyone please elaborate on what to expect? I really hate sheer drop offs and such, so will I have to ride with my eyes closed? lol. Thanks! HarpHarp Posted August 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2015 In St Thomas you drive on the left side of the road with standard U.S, left hand drive cars, so it looks pretty scary if you are not used to it. The drivers are the best. No worries Here are some videos
blue_water Posted August 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Tortola is where the ride to the beaches can be thrilling due to the steep inclines like the Elevator, and the switchbacks where you rely on the mirrors and on folks beeping their horns. :D Look at some of the youtube videos from folks staying in the Belmont area or driving the Elevator. STT is relatively calm in comparison, at least where you will be riding...but being in the back of an open-sided safari taxi makes it more exciting on the winding roads of most islands...
